Famous North Male Atoll Dive spots

BANANA REEF (Marine protected area)

This dive site, we can find close to Hulhumale, still a great dive, Overhangs, Big coral blocks and slightly to strong current, create this reef in his beauty! You will find there big schools of reef fishes and turtles as well, deep in this overhangs you will see, protected from the current, soft corals and gorgonian fan growing.

LANKAN BEYRU (Manta Point)

On the outside of Lankan finolhu, on the south part, you will find a cleaning station, where the Manta Ray comes to visit, it is a highly frequented place from both, divers and Mantas, we are visiting this place, early morning, or close to lunchtime, when no one is there to be crowded. So we find always the right time to stay with our small groups and watching the grace full flight of the big gentle Rays.

H.P. REEF (Marine protected area)

H.P. Reef is one of the spectacular dive sites in north male atoll, located in Himmafushi chanel top reef by 10 meters, it needs some experience to stay and to see the show of reef outstanding fishes, some sharks, rays and turtles as well.

COLOSSEUM  (Thulusdhoo Island)

Outside reef corner on the north side of the Thulusdhoo island, where the famous cokes surf break exists is place, will show you, from sharks, dogtooth tuna, turtles, huge groupers, hunting jackfish, and sometimes manta passing by.

PRISCA CORNER (Outside reef of Dhiffushi and Meeru)

This place is great, if you like, for drift dives, the fast current into the atoll will let you fly passing by big overhangs with schools of snapper and fusiliers fish, a bit away from the reef you can see some cray reef sharks, sometimes Tiger sharks.

MIYARU FARU (Atoll chanel)

You can see a lot of big fishes here, after reproducing time, december to january, it is a great place to find different kind of sharks and rays.

HELENGELI THILA (Helengeli island)

A deep entrance from 12-15 meters and medium to strong current, isn’t for beginners but the amount of different fishes here is amazing! there are reef fishes and pelagic fish as well, we can find some sharks and eagle rays, sometimes we can see one of this fast swimming blue marlin or sailfish.

However! it is important to know that Happy Life Maldives is fully co operated with “Miyaru Divers”, owned, operated and supported dive school by Happy Life Maldives and Miyaru Divers.
